Coaching
I will work with you one-on-one to complete a particular project or to develop and strengthen your skills. Rates vary.
Proofreading
When the manuscript is ready for publication or for submission to a publisher or agent, I provide a thorough and careful check of spelling, punctuation, and grammar. $20/hour
Copyediting
When the writing and rewriting is done, I provide a careful and detailed check of: spelling, grammar, and punctuation; consistency of voice and tone; logic and clarity; weak or awkward sentences (word choice, sentence structure, passive voice, wordiness); and compliance with publisher or agent’s style guidelines (where appropriate). $30/hour
Content Editing
After early revisions have been completed and you want help shaping the final manuscript, I can provide assistance with: revising, moving, or removing entire paragraphs, chapters, sections, or sentences to improve flow and clarity; suggesting new material to fill gaps; character development; and narrative flow. $40/hour
